Spiti Valley is one of India's most dramatic landscapes — a cold desert plateau in Himachal Pradesh sitting between 3,800 m and 4,500 m above sea level. This circuit takes you through Key Monastery, Kaza, Chandratal Lake, Tabo, and Dhankar. Best suited for adventure lovers who don't mind long mountain drives and basic but soulful accommodation.

It's a moderate-difficult trip. Good physical fitness is recommended. Not ideal for very young children or elderly with health conditions.

What is the network/connectivity like?
Very limited. BSNL works in some areas. Expect to be offline for most of the circuit — that's part of the magic.

When is the best time to visit Spiti?
June to October is the travel window. July–August is the most popular, September is quieter and equally beautiful.
